Students who are seeking for Admission in National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) and  University of Mumbai Department of Atomic Energy Center for Excellence in Basic Sciences(UM DAE CBS) are here by Informed that the Admissions for NISER and UM DAE CBS will be Based on the Merit Marks Scored in the National Entrance Screening Test NEST.

Eligibility for Admissions :  

Students securing at least 60% marks in aggregate (or equivalent grade) in Class XII (or equivalent) examination  from any  recognized Board in India are eligible to apply.

For Scheduled Cast (SC),  Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates and for Persons with Disability (PD), the minimum requirement is 55%.

Students who have passed the Class XII qualifying examination in 2010 or 2011 or are appearing in 2012 are eligible to apply. ( Where only Letter grade is given by the Board, a certificate from the Board specifying equivalent percentage marks will be required. In the absence of such a certificate the decision of the respective Admissions Committee will be final.)

NEST 2012 On-line applications:

NEST 2012 Online Application Form is also recommended for Applying NEST 2012 Entrance Test.

• First, register yourself by clicking on “New Registration” in the NEST homepage.
• Get your mark sheets (to fill up academic data), Demand Draft/money transfer reference number ready before you start filling in the online form.
• Upload jpg files of your photo and scanned signature. Crop out extra white portion from surrounding image to retain clarity.
• View the form with images and take a printout of the filled-in form for your reference.
• Write name and application number at the back of the DD.
• Send the DD to the Chief Coordinator (address given in the NEST homepage.). If you are transferring money by NEST then nothing has to be sent.

Follow the instructions Mentioned above and follow the Application Procedure. Photo and signature upload is mandatory for on-line candidates. Application may be rejected if photo/signature is not legible. Application forms and demand draft should be sent by  speed post or registered post.

Note: Please do NOT submit the application both by online and by post. Such forms, if found, will summarilly be rejected.
